The International Test Centre for CO2 Capture, located in Regina, is a one-of-a-kind facility that will spur the development of innovative carbon dioxide capture techniques to decrease the amount of CO2released into the atmosphere and pave the way for new storage methods and industrial uses for the gas.

Amendments to The Crown Minerals Act to support the operation of electronic mineral registry were approved by the legislature in June 2010. The Crown Minerals Amendment Act, 2010 sets out the new statutory provisions which will govern the operation of MARS. The amendments dealing with the establishment of electronic mineral registries will be proclaimed just prior to the new system becoming operational.

The Mineral Tenure Registry Regulations (Draft)

The Ministry is finalizing regulations to govern the operation of MARS based on the legislative amendments approved in 2010. The current working draft of the new regulations and related documents can be found below.

The Mineral disposition Amendment Regulations, 2012 repeels all of The Mineral Disposition Regulations, 1986 except for Part I (Short title, Interpretation and Application) and Part VIII (Royalties).
