The Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources co-ordinates, develops, promotes and implements policies and programs of the Government of Saskatchewan that strengthen and diversify the Saskatchewan economy. Energy and Resources is the lead provincial government agency to spur growth and development of the province's resource sector.

Our Mandate

To achieve full and responsible development of Saskatchewan's energy, mineral and forestry resources; to work with businesses to expand the Saskatchewan economy by promoting, co-ordinating and implementing policies, strategies and programs that encourage sustainable economic growth, and to optimize revenues to fund government programs and services.

 The Ministry Plan for 2011-12, released with the Budget on March 23, 2011, demonstrates how the Ministry aligns with government's vision and goals and presents a high level framework for the Ministry's activities in the upcoming year. The plan contains strategies and actions that will be pursued in the upcoming year, measures to gauge the ministry's progress, and a financial summary.

The 2009-10 Annual Report presents the Ministry's activities and results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2010. The Ministry's annual report, as required by legislation, is tabled by the Minister responsible within 120 days of the close of the fiscal year.

The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act enables people to apply for access to records containing information possessed or controlled by the government, and sets out the rules under which the government can collect, use, disclose and retain personal information.
